Meet Our Family

Danny & Kayla

Danny grew up like most pastor’s kids, helping his parents in ministry. Kayla grew up in rural Washington with parents who were deeply committed to one another and their family. Soon after graduating high school, Danny and Kayla met through a program called Engage in Missions while doing missions work in Guadalajara, Mexico.

They both attended Nelson University in Waxahachie, TX and graduated in 2011. Danny holds a B.A. in Communications and later earned an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Nelson University in 2023. Kayla has a B.S. in Counseling.

They have been involved in numerous full-time ministry roles in Dallas, TX, over the last decade, ranging from media production to social work and accounting. They have also engaged in the pastoring and planting of Spanish-speaking congregations. In their roles, they have had the opportunity to lead teams of staff and volunteers.

Malia

Malia is ten years old. She enjoys basketball, singing, and spending time with her family and her dog. What excites her most about becoming a missionary’s kid is to meet people who don’t know about Jesus and tell them about Him. She asks everyone to pray for her as she fully immerses in learning more Spanish.

Olivia

Olivia is eight years old. She enjoys playing soccer, singing, and traveling with her family. She is most excited about being a missionary’s kid because she will get to make new friends. She asks that everyone pray for her as she says goodbye to the home she loves.

Naomi

Naomi is five years old. She enjoys soccer, singing, playing with her sisters, and drawing. She’s most excited about telling people about Jesus. She asks for prayer to be safe as we move to a different country.

“As a first-generation American, I had found success and security pursuing the American dream. However, it became evident the Lord had different plans for our lives. We kept sensing His call to missions. So we responded. Although answering the call means leaving everything we have worked hard to have in Dallas, we choose to live a life of irrational surrender.”

Danny De los Reyes

“I have felt called to missions from a very young age. For the past 11 years, we have served the local church in Dallas. We love our church and value the relationships we have built. It was a difficult decision to surrender what we have to serve in Mexico City, but obedience to the call has filled us with hope and excitement. It is an honor to be a part of what God is doing in Mexico.”

Answering the Call of the Great Commission

Research findings have challenged us about the high number of people far away from Jesus Christ in Mexico City. But we know that the local church is God's hub to disciple and grow the next generation of believers in Mexico City—a city of over 26 million people but with a shockingly low number of churches in comparison.

We are thrilled about where the Lord is leading us. Our work is to plant churches in strategic neighborhoods of Mexico City and mentor emerging leaders.

IT TAKES THREE

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT

As we embark on this endeavor, we realize that it takes three people to make this happen. The first is God, He is the one who called us. The second is our family answering God’s call to go. And the third is you. Your support makes possible our work to reach people far from God in Mexico City.

Will you prayerfully consider to be a monthly supporter and hold our rope as we descend into what God has called us to do as a family?
